    I'm seeing many bigoted comments down there so I just want to make this clear : any hate towards moderators will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit with no warning. This includes, but is not limited to, calling moderation a "fake job" or saying that we "do it for free". Moderation is one of the most useful jobs to society.

      Please, fellow rationalists, help me. I just cannot believe I said the “g” word on accident. I didn’t mean it. I’m very disappointed in myself, I think I need to go to science camp or something. evolutionary pressures sure did a number on my coordination, What if I start mistaking anecdotes for evidence? What if next time, I say “Jsus chrst” instead of “neil degrasse tyson”? I don’t like religion or anything related to religion. What if I’m secretly a diest? what should I do? Is my foreskin going to DISAPPEAR??

I can assure you that long working hours is rarer in Japan than 70% of countries in the world exactly because they are taken seriously but reddit love those streotype as they draw upvotes/likes.

Average working hours including unpaid OT is below global average in Japan(1903) already, lower than the US(1976).

Fancy words like working to death or black companies exist, but what is considered illegal working hours and making news for violating labor law in Japan is just average working condition in nearly 30% of countries in the world.

The average yearly working hours in Singapore(2,215h) or Vietnam(2,163h) are considered illegal 'black company' level by Japanese standards, while average working hours in India(2,428h) and China(2397h) are considered working to death in Japan.

Average regular time is 1800-1850 hours in Japan and legal OT cap is 360 hours a year.

Working OT of 100 hours a month or 80 hours of 2 consecutive month are defined as working to death in Japan, average certified working to death cases involving 2300-2500 hours of yearly working hours(including unpaid OT)

Of 169 countries and regions in the list of average working hours by OECD, 53 of them have over 2200 hours of average yearly working hours that would be considered illegal/black companies in Japan.

11 coutnries have average working hours of 2400 hours or more that would be not just violating OT cap but also considred working to death if they apply Japanese labor law.

          Goodbye. This server has been such a negative impact on me mentally and jm tired of always being put down by everyone in this server. It has come to my attention that maybe I am simply not wanted since I am countlesly server muted and banned just for expressing myself. The amount of hate I get everyday on this server has made me mentally and emotionally hurt. I have pushed aside your countless negative actions but decided i cannot take it anymore. it is neither of our faults since I dont think I am fit to be here. I have decided to take the decision to remove myself from this server in order to create a better environment for everyone including myself. I'm sorry for anything I have ever did to any of you and I feel the need to leave because of my negative actions and the way I am being treated as well. The amount of time ive had to condone your terrible behavior is way too many to count. Im sorry if I have been mean sometimes but your actions have been way too much for me to handle mentally and emotionally. I am so drained because of this server and the people in it. I have been told over and over to get over your behaviour but I want to make it stop for everyone in order to create a better environment. I hope others feel the need to speak up about this situation because it needs to be fixed. I am sure I did not do anything bad to deserve this much hurtful words and the amount of strain on my mental health. The amount of times I've been torn down day and night and how I cry myself to sleep thinking about how people could be this cruel and rude is astonishing. This is a goodbye forever. I hope each and everyone of you the great rest of your lives and to please cut out negativity that is affecting you.
