Yoko taro doesn’t just like pretty girls.

Yoko taro doesn’t just like pretty girls. That’s a very complex answer to a very simple question. Yoko taro is obsessed with the human condition. The experience our biological matter creates across electric impulses. 2B isn’t just pretty. She represents an idea. Otherwise, she would just be like any other representation of a female character. There’s nothing special about 2Bs model. She gorgeous of course, but that don’t separate her from anything or anyone else.

So we have to start asking the right questions.

What is it about 2B that makes her stick in everyone’s mind. The first thing, and most obvious is elegance. She represents feminine power in its most raw form. But this is surface level Iceberg.

The second thing a bit further down is relatability, pain, and suffering. She battles against her fate, but time is a flat circle. What is happens once, will happen again and again. This on going battle is something we all face and takes on a heavy theme in the games story.

I’ll be completely honest, I don’t know how far it really goes down. But the deepest I’ve delved into this is Sacrifice. Ultimately 2B represents sacrifice. 2B represents what makes us different from a cold meticulous robot hive mind. The ability to give up something valuable in exchange for nothing. This is the human condition. This is what propels us forward.

Yoko taro created a hero, for the glory of mankind.
