From a Reddit circlejerk post in the Overwatch 2 subreddit.
So I started doing some comp matches and got put in silver 2. I was pretty pleased with myself until I looked at some "data" and it turns out that means that I'm in the bottom 15% of all players. Clearly that is wrong because I'm better than that.
Firstly, I'd like to see where this "data" came from. Clearly not from any reputable source. Silver is clearly average, gold is good and anything beyond that isn't worth concerning yourself about. So here's some data - How come any time I look at someones career profile in quick play, they are silver also? That is because most people are silver (average).
Stuff like this is made to make people feel bad, it's very similar to penis length statistics where companies like to pretend that the average penis is far far bigger than normal through their "statistics" when actually the average is about 3.5-4".
