I’m done with Sailing until this gets rolled back or properly addressed.

    A redditor had a crashout after Jagex nerfed the XP rates for Sailing describing it as being permanently left behind. 

    All that talk about “the golden age” and “your time matters” just went straight out the window.

This update has shown that my time—and a lot of other players’ time—is not equal.

“Let’s release a huge new skill right in the middle of the holiday season for our main playerbase. Couldn’t log in because you were with family? Too bad—enjoy being permanently behind while anyone who no-lifed it hits endgame.”

And now we’re watching XP rates go down and drop rates go up after those players already cashed in.

As usual, the rich get richer. All the joy and hype I had for this skill just got ripped out from under me. Time to dock my ship and go back to the normal slayer grind. Might even raise my cannon with everyone else.

EDIT:I want to clear this up my main frustration is not regarding gp or anything else. It’s the fact of the timing of this nerf and years of development. Then to nerf it this hard this long after release is ridiculous.

SECOND EDIT: I completely understand the nerfing of the crystal(honestly don’t understand how that passed testing). It’s the nerfing of the salvaging and only a small increase to a method that isn’t used and probably will not be used for higher levels(I can be proven wrong). This game has always been about polling and this seems like we don’t have a say and are being told to like it. This is a slope that feels a lot like when EOC came out and we were told there’s no going back. If this can happen for this then what’s next?

    Why OSRS Needs An Elite Playerbase to Look Down on The Unwashed Masses

      Started as a circlejerk post on the OSRS subreddit mocking the elite hardcore players.

      The playerbase of this game is in dire need of a small, elite upper crust to look down upon and belittle the vast majority of you pathetic plebs.

At the end of the day, what separates the kings from the peasants is a fundamental disparity in skill, wealth, and accomplishments. We elite players represent the top 1% - a rarefied echelon that you mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers can only dream of reaching. Our superiority is undeniable, our prowess unmatched. We are OSRS's Olympians while you're all stuck wallowing in the special olympics.

The vast majority of you are simply irredeemable losers by nature. No amount of grinding or pet hunts will ever change the fact that you're playing an online medievalclicker game in your mid-30s. Your very existence is a joke - a punchline that writes itself. The only shred of purpose your meaningless lives can ever have is to serve as whipping boys that we elite players can endlessly mock and negatively reinforce our own grandeur.

We are OSRS's Übermensch - a superior breed of gamers forged from endless hours of grinding, scamming, and psychological torment. We've ascended beyond such trifling concepts as empathy, humility, and human decency. Such traits are crutches clung to by the weak - and weakness is a sin that we elite ruthlessly extinguish from our ranks.

You can preach about "community" and "basic respect" all you want, but we'll be too busy sneering at your failings from our vaunted pedestals to hear you over the sound of our own self-satisfactory laughter. We are OSRS's Alphas and Omegas - demigods walking amongst peasants too blind to even comprehend our greatness.

Stay mediocre and know your place at the bottom of the food chain, runescapers. The throne only has room for we few elite players worth of occupying it.

        Let me explain it to you simply: Because mainscape is boring as shit, as it is an excel spreadsheet simulator. People don't sign up to play an iron to jerk their dicks over how self sufficient they are, for many, it's the only enjoyable mode. A lot of us see ironman as the main mode. In fact, let's call ironman the main game mode and non-irons baby moders. Look at the boss KC spread of an iron and a main, and then tell me who do you think plays the game "correctly".

          Its an Old School RuneScape (OSRS) copypasta that originated from a response by Jagex Moderator (Jmod) on Reddit. The Jmod was responding to a bait post of the stats of an obvious botting account.

          It became an instant meme because it showed the extent of bot problem and how OP had took every step to reporting the problem and had to resort to making a “flex” bait post on Reddit just to get that particular bot banned.

          Whilst I commend your ability to kill Vorkath, posting on Reddit about your account doesn't grant it any legitimacy from selling your spoils to the Black Market (that goes for the 481m you sold today, too).
          Whilst I commend your ability to take action, I must admit that this is the account I sent a tip on October 5th to Jagex's tipoff email, further inquired about said email on twitter around a week ago and now posted the exact same thing on reddit. It isn't really my account.

          Mahogany Homes is literally a scam

            Amy is the founder and head of Mahogany Homes
            Obviously for XP its fine, but think about it in the context of the game universe for a moment.

This woman Amy hires you as a contractor to fix peoples homes. She provides no supplies, no transportation, and most importantly NO PAY.

You are literally providing her with free supplies and labor while she gets to keep the money from the contracts.

The only thing you receive as a reward is essentially company scrip where you can buy back some of the supplies YOU USED TO DO THE CONTRACTS.

            Moss giants & hill giants just make me feel so good

              This might be weird but like... moss giants & hill giants just make me feel so good. Certain methods just get me turned on so to speak, not sure how to explain it. Toes are curling at peak xp rates sorta thing. A lot of stuff ingame, them and i, we're almost more than friends. I know it sounds weird but sheeesh i cant get enough of it
