Hey guys, did you know that Vaporeon got a nice buff in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Just like the other evolutions in the Eevee family, it now has access to Calm Mind, allowing it to raise its Special Attack and Special Defense and actually become a threatening sweeper, which can be combined with Terastallization for some really fun interactions. By Terastallizing into a Ground type, you can completely wall Pokemon like Rotom’s Wash form which can no longer use Volt Switch on you, and can't hit you with Hydro Pump due to your Water Absorb ability. But where Vaporeon really excels is with its tried and true Wish/Protect defensive sets, which despite getting nerfed this generation with the loss of Heal Bell, are still fantastic at walling some of the RU tier’s Fire types like Hisuian Typhlosion and Armarouge, not having to worry about their Calm Mind sets due to Haze. Defensive sets can also Terastallize into a Ghost type to block Rapid Spin and also deal with Slither Wing, the strongest fighting type in RU. Other good options are Tera Poison to be immune to toxic while also still able check Fighting types or Tera Fairy for simply being a great Defensive typing. So even though it's no longer a Cleric, Vaporeon still has had no trouble doing what it does best; tanking hits and passing Wishes to its teammates.
